Meet Lottie, more than just a mascot – a companion throughout your personal learning journey. Lottie is an octopus, a magnificent nautical creature whose essence aligns with the maritime origins of the name Portflow. The name “Portflow” itself is equally symbolic: “port” represents a safe haven where a learner can harbour their valuable learning experiences, having steered them into the right place by being at the helm of their own education; “flow” reflects the flexibility and unpredictability of the learning journey, on which we effortlessly flow along with the learner.
As you might already recognise, the intrinsic properties of an octopus – their remarkable flexibility, adaptability, insatiable curiosity, and innate eagerness to learn – closely mirror Portflow’s core characteristics and values. Moreover, octopi are renowned as highly intelligent species, capable of remarkable adaptation to their environment, both in their physical form and their appearance. They are masters in problem-solving, a talent partly attributed to their unique decentralised brain structure, with neural clusters not only in their head but also extending into each of their eight arms.
We’re introducing Lottie to be just that: an intelligent, curious, and profoundly flexible companion, dedicated to following the learner’s journey and flowing seamlessly with their individual rhythm.
