Eduframe & TIAS (2025)

A rapidly changing labor market requires learners to gain new skills in order to remain professionally agile. Students are increasingly looking for flexible education that fits their busy lives and is personalized to their needs.

TIAS’ goal was to establish a new enterprise architecture that would better fit their future direction. One of the crucial projects to realize this was to find a SIS that fit the vision of TIAS. For this, TIAS defined 3 key requirements:

Fit for Growth

The platform should help TIAS standardize & automate processes in order for TIAS to grow sustainably.

Support Flexible & Modular Programs

As TIAS wanted to offer more flexible programs, they needed a SIS that enables them to deliver programs customized for both B2B and B2C audiences, encompassing for-credit and not-for-credit options, a variety of learning formats, and smooth transition pathways.

Promote Lifelong Learning

The platform should be designed to promote lifelong learning for an optimal user experience and higher retention.

TIAS’ search led them to Eduframe, The Continuing Education Storefront & SIS for Canvas LMS. Eduframe helps to engage prospective students with a stunning storefront. It makes it easier for TIAS to capitalize on key trends in continuing education such as microcredentials and stackable, personalized programs and offers a 360 degree overview of all its non-traditional learners in one comprehensive SIS.

In Drieam they found a trusted long-term partner with a joint vision on the future of lifelong learning.

“If I were to describe Eduframe, I think of a modern SIS that fits the needs to shape flexible and personalized education. I don’t believe that with a traditional SIS I also get that focus on lifelong learning that I do get with Eduframe. I am eager to see what else Eduframe can do to promote lifelong learning. Not only on the administration side, but also on the front end by offering adaptive learning journeys.”

Next, we’ll discuss the key succes factors of Eduframe for TIAS.

Collaborative project management
From the start of the project, TIAS and Drieam have worked closely together on making the project a success, where success was defined as the adoption of Eduframe at TIAS. Risks were continuously being identified and mitigated in an open conversation between TIAS and Drieam.

Careful process design
TIAS and Drieam identified 6 key processes that would be facilitated through Eduframe and connected applications. During a thorough functional and technical design process, new processes with Eduframe were designed. This was done in co-creation with all TIAS employees involved in working with these processes. As a starting point, the existing processes were used, with its pain points, strengths and requirements for the future. This enabled Drieam to close any software gaps found and allowed TIAS to align the processes internally, before the go-live.

Cultivate ownership
After the process design phase, a ‘train the trainer’ strategy was chosen for the implementation. During this phase, trainers were trained within TIAS, who fully made the designed processes their own and trained their colleagues on these processes later. In contrast to top-down enforcement, this enabled full adoption of Eduframe and the new processes, before the go-live took place.

Developing together and always fully supporting
Throughout the entire project, TIAS and Drieam always worked closely together to achieve the best possible result. Even after Eduframe went live at TIAS, both parties continued to work closely together, involving for example a ‘hypercare’ phase in the first 6 months after go-live. As part of their product roadmap, Drieam has further developed Eduframe, now allowing institutions to offer full degree programs with credits, thesis and transcripts, so TIAS can use this for the master and MBA programs they offer. Even now, TIAS and Drieam continue to work together to guide the development of lifelong learning at TIAS, supported by Eduframe.

In 2024, TIAS was voted the Best Educator in the Netherlands in the prestigious MT1000 ranking.

This ranking, conducted by the University of Amsterdam and MT/Sprout, recognizes TIAS as the number one in the category ‘Training & Education’. Partially thanks to Eduframe, TIAS is able to offer a unique and award-winning approach to learning and development, combining academic knowledge, practical applicability and personal growth.
