Extend Your LMS with a Modern, User-Friendly and Comprehensive Portfolio
Portflow is an LTI app or plug-in that has been designed from the very start as a deeply integrated component of higher education institutions’ digital learning platforms. From the perspectives of user experience (UX), privacy & security, and reliability, Portflow has been developed as a natural extension of the LMS (Canvas by Instructure, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, Blackboard by Anthology), enhancing its functionality without duplicating workflows or data processing. Rather than replacing the LMS or its components, Portflow extends and strengthens them.
Key benefits of the synergy between Portflow and your LMS
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Automatic User Provisioning
- Fully Embedded Within the LMS
- Easy Collaboration and Sharing
- Seamless Assignment Integration
- Leveraging Advanced LMS Assessment Features
- Activity & Progress Tracking
- Unified notifications

“Portflow is playing a crucial part in ECU’s Curriculum Transformation Program: a university-wide transition towards holistic programmatic learning that will enhance learner agency and feedback literacy. Together with Portflow, we are redefining what meaningful learning and assessment look like in Australian higher education.”
“We employ Portflow as a catalyst for our initiated educational transition towards learning outcome-oriented practice, making the connections between learning activities and contexts to the learning outcomes. Students use Portflow to visualize their learning process and demonstrate learning outcomes while being at the wheel of their education”
“Student ownership has become visible very quickly because of Portflow. It all becomes much more trackable what a student is doing and what that learning journey looks like. That visibility is very easily seen in the growth and self-sufficiency of students.”
What makes Portflow a unique digital portfolio?
Overarching Learning & Assessment Portfolio for the Entire Learning Journey
Robust Goal Framework as a Solid Basis for Program-Level Assessment and a Two-Lane Approach
The learner can build their educational portfolio by linking these artefacts as evidence to their goal framework of personal and program-wide skills, course-level outcomes (CLOs), and competencies. This approach supports both assessment of learning (lane 1) and assessment for & as learning (lane 2), while complying with standards from TEQSA and NZQA.
Feedback Focused
Portfolio Software That Makes the Learning Process Visible
Progress and growth towards mastery is trackable and visualised in intuitive growth and spider charts for both learners and coaches, allowing for adequate scaffolding and reflections. In addition, narrative feedback is presented in an aggregated overview and can be analysed and summarised using AI, highlighting strengths and opportunities for improvements.
Leveraging the LMS for a Seamless Experience
Learners and academics remain within their trusted learning environment through the synergy with the LMS, without the need to open new tabs or sign in elsewhere. Learners can import LMS assignment submissions including received feedback as evidence, they can invite other LMS users to their (development) portfolio, summative assessments can be graded within the LMS, and academic staff can use the coaching dashboard to support learners in a timely manner: a seamless experience that goes far beyond integrated. External users can easily and securely access shared portfolio’s without an LMS account.
Student Ownership & Lifelong Learning
Portflow is fundamentally a learner-owned portfolio. They can tell their personal narrative on their learning journey, collect & organise evidence, manage access, curate showcases, create exports, and add an alumnus login to keep using the portfolio after graduation, transforming the portfolio into a lifelong career asset.
